About Teleoplexy
Teleoplexy is a blog exploring the intersection of fintech, banking and artificial intelligence. The name is drawn from Nick Land’s theoretical work on self-reinforcing cybernetic intensification towards Techonomic Singularity - where financial and technological systems develop their own evolutionary momentum and emergent intelligence.
About Me
After graduating top of my class from the University of Exeter, where I focused on applying (rudimentary) language models to the protein folding problem, I joined Thought Machine during their Series A round to revolutionise core banking systems. There, I helped scale out the payments and ledger infrastructure until they acheived unicorn status.
Following this, I worked in crypto initially developing trading infrastructure through operating PoS validators and building cross-chain arbitrage systems. Then I founded DeFlux, a payments engine integrating stablecoin issuers with Open Banking APIs for on/off ramping services.
Currently, part of Entrepreneur First Spring 2025 cohort, exploring new teleoplexic ventures.
I’m also an open source contributor to the Please Build system, developing build definitions for Rust, Solidity, JavaScript, along with PostgreSQL tooling.
Areas of Focus
Fintech Infra & Banking Systems
Analysis of core banking systems, digital transformation, and the evolution of banking infrastructure. Drawing from hands-on experience building scalable ledger systems and payment engines, we examine how traditional banking infrastructure is being rebuilt from the ground up with modern technology stacks.
Payments & Open Banking APIs
Deep dives into payment systems architecture, from traditional rails to emerging networks. Exploring the intersection of traditional banking infrastructure with new paradigms - real-time payments, open banking initiatives, and cross-border settlement systems. Focus on how APIs are reshaping the financial services landscape.
Blockchains & Cryptocurrencies
Analysis of how blockchain technology and digital assets are being absorbed into traditional financial infrastructure. Exploring the evolution from isolated crypto ecosystems to integrated financial networks, where stablecoins become a native part of payment rails and trading systems. Examining how traditional financial institutions are not just adopting blockchain technology, but being fundamentally reshaped by its possibilities - from asset tokenization to programmable money.
Special focus on how stablecoins are catalyzing this convergence, creating new possibilities for cross-border settlement, real-time payments, and programmable financial products. Investigating how traditional financial infrastructure is being quietly outmaneuvered by more efficient digital systems, particularly in areas like settlement, custody, and cross-border transactions.
AI/ML & Automation
Investigation of how machine learning and automation are transforming financial infrastructure. From risk management to real-time fraud detection, we explore practical applications of AI in financial systems. Special attention to how self-improving systems might reshape financial infrastructure through market feedback loops.
Through this blog, I aim to document the accelerating evolution of financial technology, examining how these systems become increasingly self-reinforcing and autonomous. Whether you’re interested in the technical architecture of payment systems or the broader implications of artificial intelligence in finance, Teleoplexy provides insights from both practical implementation experience and theoretical understanding.
